As part of the initial phase of the agency’s strategic planning process, Catholic Charities staff brainstormed in late Spring on how to best convey our mission to the general public and those we serve.

Staff did a wonderful job consolidating many thoughts and drafted a preliminary statement for Board review. The Board of Directors made some minor additions and sent it to the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany for approval. It was approved for use May 28, 2008 and we are proud to make this statement public.

The mission of Catholic Charities AIDS Services is to recognize and respond to the needs of those individuals and communities affected by HIV/AIDS in the Catholic Diocese of Albany. We do this in the spirit of compassion, advocacy and collaboration while preserving the dignity, respect and sanctity of human life.

By enhancing individual and family capabilities, we strengthen our communities and promote positive change regardless of orientation, lifestyle or belief.
