Project Safe Point’s launch of syringe exchange services is nearing its two year mark.

February 1st, 2012 will be the second anniversary of the services’ launch into the community and the program is currently as busy as ever.

Between peer delivered exchange and the exchange that occurs on the mobile unit twice a week, we enrolled 15 new participants in November; to date in December, staff has already enrolled several more participants.

When someone comes in for exchange for the first time, we ask how they heard about the program. More often than not, participants share that a friend who already participates in syringe exchange encouraged them to enroll.

Word is getting out about Project Safe Point and the great service it provides.
